Troop 339 is open to youth of all faiths, backgrounds, ethnicity, and abilities.
The youth must be one of the following
At least 11 years of age OR completed 5th grade (no scouting experience required)
OR
Is at least 10 years of age and has earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light
To join the troop:
Come check out a meeting to see if we're a good fit. Walk-ins are welcome, however we recommend contacting us beforehand to confirm the location for the day you wish to visit.
Complete and return a Youth Application during a meeting. Applications are available from the New Member Coordinator, Committee Chairperson, the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council office, or the BSA Website..
Pay the troop dues and National charter fee for the year. The New Member Coordinator will be able to answer any questions about dues and fees.
Scouts transferring from another unit must complete the NEW SCOUTS steps above PLUS participate in a Scoutmaster conference so we can learn about his or her scouting history and interests.
It is particularly important that a transferring Scout has documents detailing progress in advancement, merit badges, hiking, camping, service hours, etc, so no achievements will be lost. This can be in the form of signed blue cards and handbook entries or leader-approved entries in ScoutBook.
